In addition to the usual green codex of the KVHV, the Red Codex is also used in Wilrijk/Antwerp. This codex is published by the Circle of Alchemists.

The first edition appeared in 1973. This edition contained several songs found in the KVHV Codex and several songs protected by copyright. Because of these copyrights, the KDA was forced to relinquish ownership of the songs that appeared in the KVHV Codex. This resulted in the birth of the "Red Codex" as we know it today, in October 1999.

To celebrate the club's sixtieth anniversary, KDA will publish a sixteenth edition of the Red Codex in the 2024-2025 academic year.
